What the result of facial plastic surgery should look like
How it shouldFacial plastic surgery is the most delicate surgery, among other things because it is the face, our letter of introduction to the world. It is also the finest and most delicate surgery.
Patients usually seek plastic surgery to improve certain features or aspects of their face, not to transform it. The latter is often difficult and unrealistic in its expectations. Therefore, a plastic surgery aims to improve the present anatomical features, not to transform them, among other things, because this is not possible in most cases.
For me, a facial plastic surgery will be well done when the patient, once recovered, remains himself, an improved version of himself, not a transformed or altered version of himself. The translation of this into everyday life is usually that the people around him or her do not notice the change, but see him or her as “very good”, very handsome or beautiful or improved. Most of the time the people close to the patient who has undergone facial plastic surgery, once the post-operative recovery time has passed, do not know what has happened, they do not know what has been operated on, they simply appreciate a totally natural improvement in the face and appearance of this person. That is to say, they do not notice an “operated” or “plastic surgery face” or a “change of expression”.
This should be the result of a facial plastic surgery, to achieve an improvement without the knowledge that there is a surgical intervention behind it.
Different results depending on where we live
This is also because we live in Europe. The standards of beauty in other parts of the world, for example in the United States or Latin America, are different from those in Europe. We can see this even in the cinema. American films usually present perfect, good-looking actors. In European films, however, the actors are much more “natural”, more “down-to-earth”. This is because both films identify the canons of beauty with which the inhabitants of these geographical areas feel comfortable, with some exceptions of course.
Therefore, any facial aesthetic surgery must aim to improve the appearance of the person, in a natural way.
