Bichectomy

What is the bichectomy

Buccal fat pads are oval-shaped accumulations of fat found in the cheeks that give the face a rounded, swollen and bulky appearance. By extracting these fat pads it is possible to refine the face and accentuate the cheekbones. The cheek area will therefore have a slimmer appearance with no visible marks.

The operation

This is a simple operation because the buccal fat pads are found inside the cheeks, far away from important facial structures.

The duration of the surgery is approximately 1 hour. After applying the local anaesthesia plus sedation, a small incision is made inside the cheek in order to extract the buccal fat pads. To finish the procedure, the surgeon will stitch up the incision.

Post-operative

Once the operation has been completed you may have some discomfort which will be remedied with analgesic pain killers prescribed by the doctor.

In the following days the cheeks may swell, but as the days go by, this swelling will decrease.

Price

The price of the procedure varies according to the areas to be treated, the type of anaesthesia to be used and the need for hospitalization.
