Deep plane facelift to the neck or the face and neck, are surgical procedures designed to rejuvenate the face, neck or both. The object is to reposition the facial tissue layers that have sagged with age, relocating facial tissue and repositioning lost volume. Typically, candidate patients for this procedure are over 45 years old and present a saggy and tired facial appearance. Deep plane facelift is frequently combined with other lipofilling<\/a><\/strong> procedures in order to improve the facial oval, as well as with eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty<\/strong><\/a> due to the fact that facial and\/or neck ageing is usually not isolated but comes with other signs of ageing around the eyes.<\/p>

Deep plane facelift consists of repositioning saggy facial tissue layers, both skin as well as muscular layers, in order to tighten these structures by means of incisions in front of and behind the ear that are later unnoticeable. In case of necessity it can be accompanied by lipofilling or shaping by injecting fat obtained from the patient\u2019s own body. Typically, the drain is left on until being removed after 24 hours, along with a bandage or pressotherapy apparel.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Post-operative<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Post-operative care after a deep plane facelift typically requires an overnight stay at hospital. The patient should take his habitual medication (should this be the case). The pressotherapy apparel or bandage is maintained for as long as necessary (about 2 weeks). It is not a painful process but, nevertheless, we provide all the medication required for recovery. Strenuous effort should be avoided for about 15 days, whilst the stitches will be taken out between the first and second week following surgery. It is also recommendable to perform some lymphatic drain massages in the area operated on. The appearance of swelling and bruising is frequent, although after 10-15 days this is mostly resolved. It is important to stop smoking when the decision has been made to undergo this operation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
